Pour Her A Hot Bubble Bath
There is nothing more relaxing for me than a hot bath. It’s soothing and relaxes sore muscles. Lavender smelling bubble bath, salt or essential oil only adds to the experience. The lavender scent is very soothing and lavender oil is said to help induce sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, but for me, lavender one of my favourite scents.
Send Her for A Massage Or A Pedicure
Any mom will benefit from a massage, so send her for therapeutic massage. Or, with the summer just around the corner, sandals will be coming out of the closet soon. Why not join mom for a mother/daughter pedicure and pretty-up those toes. Not only will her feet look pretty, but she’ll get a nice leg massage in the process and come out relaxed and refreshed.
Join Her On A Walk, Run or Bike Ride
Getting some fresh air is also a great way to de-stress. That’s why I loved having a dog in my life. I always had a willing partner for a walk.
Walking or running helps to clear my mind. Maybe you can suggest a walk with mom on Mother’s Day? After all, it’s cheap, and it’s a great way for the family to bond.
Running and other physical activities like biking are also great for destressing. If mom is into that, offer her that option too! Mom will be thrilled that you are showing interest in something she loves to do.
Buy her some of her Favorite Reading Material
What does mom like to read? Is she into food or decorating magazines? Does she like the hottest biography? Personally, I’m into reading fiction because it takes me away into another reality. Reading also makes me sleepy, which takes me to the fifth way to help mom destress: napping.
What does Mom really want for Mother’s Day? She really just wants a nap!

Let Her Nap
Ok, any mom of small children will agree I’m sure, that the number one thing they’d love to do on Mother’s day (besides spending time with her wonderful children) is to sleep-in or take a nap. That’s one thing I used to love to do before my lovely sons; to take 20-minute cat naps.
Hot baths, massages, fresh air, a good book and a nap really sounds like a perfect day to me! What’s your favourite way of de-stressing? Do you love naps as much as I do? How do you wish to spend mother’s day?
