About The Green Beaver Lavender Natural Deodorant
Although this deodorant is the first product that I’ve tried from The Green Beaver Company, I love the story behind this brand. The fact that they are based out of Ontario makes them much more appealing to me.

Why Natural Deodorant?
For years now, I’ve been on the hunt for a more natural deodorant that will protect me from smelling while avoiding all the chemicals found in most drug store antiperspirant.
Although studies are not definitive about a link between aluminum and Alzheimer’s, for me, it’s reason enough to want to find healthier alternatives.
I’ve tried chrystals, homemade varieties, powdered versions, and natural stick versions and I have yet to be satisfied with any. I’m a runner and I want my deodorant to work through the toughest of runs.
Today I’m bringing you a review of The Green Beaver Lavender Natural deodorant.
The Ingredients
Here’s a list of ingredients found in my Lavender Deodorant:
Propanediol, Aloe Leaf Juice*, Glycerin, Sodium Stearate, Polycrycerion-10 Caprylate/Caprate, Tapioca Starch*, Sodium Caproyl/Lauroyl Lactyl Lactate, Triethyl Citrate, Sage Oil, Labrador Tea extract*, Lavender oil*, water and Glyceryl.
* sourced from organic farms.
This deodorant is also vegan, biodegradable, gluten-free, cruelty -free, non-GMO, and doesn’t contain aluminium, parabens or propylene glycol.
So far, this product sounds good.
Smell
Right away, I love the smell of this deodorant. Lavender is at the top of my favourite scents. The sage and Labrador tea add to the clean calming odour. Overall, I loved the fresh scent when I first applied it.
Packaging
As someone who’s trying to go plastic-free, the packaging was disappointing. For an all-natural product, I was hoping for a non-plastic container, like cardboard. Instead, the packaging was in a standard white plastic deodorant container.
Effectiveness
It glides on well. It didn’t create a sticky paste on my underarms either. In fact, I found it quite gentle on my skin. My armpits get irritated from the combination of antiperspirant and shaving. But, unfortunately for me, that’s as far as the good comments go.
It didn’t keep me from smelling great all day.
For me to be on board with the Green Beaver deodorant, I’d have to carry it with me and reapply often throughout the day.
So, despite all the great things this deodorant has going for it, the fact that it didn’t keep me from smelling bad all day meant that it’s been sitting in a drawer, unused for weeks. As much as I wanted to love the Green Beaver Natural deodorant, it’s a fail for me.
Even though I’m not in love with The Green Beaver natural deodorant and I won’t be buying it again, I still think this company sounds amazing. I’m willing to try more of their products. They have mineral sunscreen which I’m curious to try since I’m allergic to any other types of sunscreen.
How about you, have you tried any natural deodorant that you absolutely love? I’d really love to hear about it. Post your favourite brand in the comments below.

I’ve tried Scentuals 100% Natural (from BC) Deodorant Calming Lavender with cocoa butter, coconut oil & vitamin E and same thing…..smells great, but doesn’t work for very long at all….next.
