I love the Niagara Region very much. Although I didn’t grow up here, I moved to this region in 1999, when I was in my early 20’s. I loved this area so much, I have made it my home.
While brainstorming some ideas for posts I have decided that I will be doing a series of posts that will discuss the many great places to run in Niagara.
All though there are so many great places I could talk about, I will only highlight the places that I am most familiar with. Some of these trails are also suitable for hiking or cycling.
About the trails
For each of the trails, I will discuss interesting facts about why these areas are significant to me.
Niagara is rich in culture, history and has a very unique and interesting environment. The places I love to run are rich in all of these. I will also talk about the degree of difficulty.
Some are in flat areas (easy) and some have very challenging (difficult). The ones that fall in between will be ranked as a medium.
Running destination
I am really excited to share these great places with you. Click the links below to get to read more about these great running destinations
Port Dalhousie
Queenston Heights
Welland Canal Parkway
Recreation Trail Along The Parkway
I have placed a photo of Niagara Falls because it is the most iconic place in the Niagara Region. I wouldn’t recommend running in the area because it is jammed packed with tourists. Running there would be most difficult if not frustrating, mind you, it would be a very scenic and breathtaking run!
I love comments, so please leave one below with your favorite places to run in Niagara!

Thanks! I’m looking forward to visiting the great places again, and doing some research on history, geology and culture. One of my favorite places to run includes a trail that goes through wine country!
