I was recently introduced to JUNOCO and I thought I’d share my experience. So without further ado, here is my Clean 10 Cleansing Balm review.
This post is sponsored by JUNOCO. I received compensation for my time testing and reviewing this product, but this post reflects my personal opinion.
About JUNOCO
Let me introduce you to JUNOCO. They are a company from California providing clean skincare from natural ingredients at affordable prices. As a brand, JUNOCO aims to create products that are high-quality, affordable, and also sustainable.
JUNOCO products are formulated without microplastics and source their ingredients from repurposed materials that would otherwise go to waste. And of course, they are always vegan and cruelty-free.
Their products do not contain parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, sulphates, artificial fragrances, colours or preservatives, silicones, mineral oil, phenoxyethanol, or EDTA
Sustainability can mean different things to different people or companies. When I asked JUNOCO how they define sustainability, here’s what they said sustainability means to them:
Sustainability for us is a balance that we believe will lead to a better us and a better world. We see sustainability as a whole: humans, animals, oceans, the earth. We don’t limit it to packaging and ingredients, we understand it as a whole, and this includes human issues. Sustainability is about finding a balance. A balance within ourselves, among all of us as beings coexisting in the same home, and between us and the environment.
JunoCo
So far, JUNOCO ticks a lot of my boxes when it comes to skincare! Dive deeper into this post and find out more about the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm!
Packaging
When I review products, I like to comment on packaging since it plays a big role in what I look for in products.
In this case, JUNOCO uses packaging that is 100% recyclable and produces less CO2 than other plastics such as PVC or PS.
The paper boxes used to package their products are made from FSC certified material. This ensures that the materials used come from ethically managed sources.
I think this is all great, but if I could make some recommendations, I would suggest containers made of more sustainable materials, such as glass jars or metal containers. Having said that, I understand the dilemma of packaging, cost, weight and shipping.
Clean 10 Cleansing Balm Review
The Clean 10 Cleansing balm is an oil-based cleanser intended for all skin types. It even dissolves waterproof makeup. JUNOCO also claims that the cleansing balm will help reduce dark spots. I can sure use some of that, but I can’t substantiate this claim since I haven’t been using this product long enough to see that kind of effect.
Ingredients
The Clean 10 Cleansing balm contains the following 10 ingredients:
Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Peg-20 Glyceryl triisostearate, synthetic wax, polysorbates 85, saccharomyces/coix lacrma-jobi ma-yuen seed fermented filtrate, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, tocopheryl acetate, water, butylene glycol.
For only 10 ingredients, it sure seems like a lot of words that I can’t pronounce and had to look up. Luckily, I used a trusted source “EWG Skin Deep” database to find out more about these ingredients and they are listed as safe.
The Experience
This is my first experience with a cleansing balm. The Clean 10 Cleansing balm is solid at first but melts to an oil with the heat of your fingers.
It goes on like silk and has a nice, but very light scent which I really appreciated. If you want to see how it works, click on the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm Review video below as I do a demonstration! Mind you, I’m not a heavy wearer of makeup, so the results won’t look as drastic as some of the other videos I’ve seen floating around on social media.
As you can see, the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm did a great job of dissolving even waterproof makeup ( I wear waterproof mascara). It’s been very effective, and it’s also friendly for my sensitive skin.
It did leave my face feeling a little oily afterwards so I followed the balm with a double cleanse using the Clarifying Cleansing Powder they also sent me. These two products worked very well hand in hand for a clean and lightly exfoliated face.
Final Thought
Do I recommend Clean 10 Cleansing Balm? If you wear heavy, waterproof makeup, you should definitely try Clean 10 Cleansing balm, it really does a great job at dissolving that hard to get off makeup. You should also give it a try if you love clean, vegan, cruelty-free products that work and don’t break the bank!
