Let’s get Nekid! I was sent two full samples of Nekid body care products a few weeks ago to review. After giving them a fair trial over several weeks, I’m ready to share my thoughts.
I received the hydrating unscented aloe face cream and natural body lotion in lavender as gifts with the purpose or trying them out, and reviewing them on Green Slice of Life.

Before I dive in the review, do you know about Nekid? Let me introduce you…
About Nekid
Nekid is a Canadian company, local(ish) to me as they are made in Brampton, Ontario. Their lotions are all handcrafted in small batches and made with natural ingredients.
Although not completely plastic-free, their containers use 70% less packaging. These small, flat, flexible containers allow them to be shipped via regular mail through flat mailers. This makes Nekid a more affordable product for the consumer.
Let’s start my review with my favorite of the two products, the face cream.
Nekid Hydrating Aloe Face Cream
I picked the unscented face cream because it’s unscented and suitable for all skin types. The packaging states that it:
- Hydrates & moisturizes
- Contains hyaluronic acid
- Eases wrinkles & fines lines
- Smoothing
- Increases elasticity
- It contains a list of premium natural ingredients.
After trying it for over two weeks, I can tell you that I love this face cream. It has an amazing texture, and even though it says it’s unscented, it does have a very faint, sweet smell that I enjoy.
I found the formula very gentle on my skin and has kept my skin well hydrated as well. It’s not sticky, or greasy either.
Since I’ve only tried it for a few weeks, I can’t really attest that the Nekid formula eases wrinkles and fine lines (I still have those 🙂 or that it’s smoothing. However, my skin does feel soft and hydrated.
I also love that Nekid products are NOT tested on animals or come from animal products. I’m always on the lookout for cruelty-free beauty products.
Since I only use this on my face, the 90 ml “bottle” is quite enough to last me a long time.
Nekid Natural Body Lotion in Lavender
I love lavender everything, from the colour to the scent. That’s why I picked this option. The Nekid body lotion in lavender smells divine. It’s not an overpowering fake scent. It’s natural and light and just smelling it makes me feel relaxed.
Nekid body lotions come in a variety of yummy scents that I’d also love to try, like Cinnamon Bun and Chocolate Cake.
The lotion was not sticky or greasy. It was quickly absorbed through the skin, leaving my hands soft and hydrated.
Their website states that their lotion can help with psoriasis and eczema. As I suffer from eczema, I can say that it didn’t cause any flare-ups. However, it’s difficult for me to determine whether or not it helped in reducing any either. That’s just something that I could only determine over time.
Note: This product does contain seed oils, including hemp, grape and sunflower oils.
I did enjoy the body lotion. The 90 ml container didn’t last long for me. With this pandemic, I wash and sanitize my hands often and follow up with lotion. I also used it all over my body, so I went through the bottle quite quickly.
I looked on the Nekid website, and it seems that they only offer it in the 90ml/3 oz size.
And for my final thoughts…
Would I buy these products?
Although these full sized items were gifted for this review, there are many reasons I will be these buying Nekid lotions.
- They are Canadian-made, small, local business that I’m looking at supporting.
- Their lotions not only work well at keeping the skin hydrated but, they are made with plant-based natural ingredients and are not tested on animals.
- The price point is amazing. Honestly, they are quite affordable. I think packaging plays a huge role in this. The face cream is $19.97, and $8.79 for the body lotion.
- Although the packaging isn’t waste-free, which would be ideal, it is 70% less packaging than conventional bottles. But, because they offer this “less sexy, more eco-friendly” packaging, they can send it via Canada Post and reduce the cost of shipping to the consumer.
I want to thank Nekid Body Care for sending me face cream and body lotion samples. Even though these products were gifted, the views expressed in this post were my honest opinion.
If you are looking at supporting a small, hand-crafted local business that makes natural lotions and face cream, then I’m recommending getting Nekid!
Thank you for posting this review. I’m always on the outlook for Canadian made product. I will definitely get is try.
