On the blog today, I have the perfect list of songs to keep you motivated while running. Who doesn’t need a bit of motivation eh?
Running is my favourite cardio exercise. When I run, I like to listen to upbeat music to keep my stride fast. It’s not only the beat of the song that influences my pace but the message behind the song as well.
My playlist changes from time to time, but I have listed my top 10 songs currently on my playlist that are motivating and make me run faster.
Judging by my list you might think that I’m stuck in the ’80s and ’90s. Perhaps I am dating myself a bit here but I do have a few more modern songs on my list as well!
So, without further ado, it is my list of songs to keep you motivated on your next run:
Top Ten Motivating Songs for Running:
- We Are The Champions by Queen
- Jump by Van Halen
- Another One Bites The Dust by Queen
- Eye of the Tiger by Survivor
- Survivor by Destiny’s Child
- We Will Rock You by Queen
- Some Nights by Fun
- I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
- Staying Alive by the Bee Gees
- Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys
To be honest, I could have included every song from Queen’s Absolute Greatest Album but I limited it to three just to be fair to all other artists! When I hear Another One Bites The Dust, my competitive side comes out and I imagine myself in a race and passing other runners!
Listening to these motivating songs is only one of the many mind games I play when running. When training, I think these types of mind games are important to get over the discomfort you might be feeling in your lungs or the tiredness in your legs.
So, there you have my list, now it’s time for you to share a few of yours. What’s on your playlist? What type of songs inspires you?
